Tennessee Winter Beer Fest – February 4th, 2012

Howdy fellow snobs!

Hard to believe it’s already 2012! It’s that time of the year when it’s dark by 5:30 and the weather teases us by allowing us to wear a t-shirt one day and requiring a parka the next. This is also a quiet time of the year when it comes to beer-related festivals and gatherings. Perhaps it’s because we all hunker down by the fire, hibernating so to speak. However, it’s always good to get together for a brew or two and support a great cause – parka and all!

I am proud to announce the inaugural run of the Tennessee Winter Beer Fest! The fest will be held in Townsend, TN. at the Laurel Valley Country Club (on February 4th, 2012 from 3pm to 9pm. Tickets can be purchased for $45 at The Quarry @ Marble City Brewing Company, Woodruff Brewing Company, The Chocolate Bar in Townsend, The Casual Pint and The Market @ Washington and High. Now, you might be wondering what that $45 gets you – here ya go:

– Awesome brews from our good friends at Woodruff Brewing Company, Marble City Brewing Company, Smoky Mountain Brewery and Depot Street Brewing.
– FOOD – eat yourself silly. Miss Lily’s Cafe will be serving up some tasty treats. In this snobs opinion (and my stomach agrees), beer aside, this is reason enough to go. These guys never disappoint!
– An AWESOME pint glass AND t-shirt – not too shabby!
– And finally the knowledge that the proceeds from the fest will go to support the folks at New Hope Blount County Children’s Advocacy Center. Definitely a great cause and an awesome organization.

There are ONLY 180 tickets so act fast and snatch one up. Also, the fine folks at the TallyHo Inn are offering 20% off of rooms for festival goers AND they’ll have a free shuttle. So you can make a weekend out of it!

Hope to see you there. Cheers!

UPDATE: There ARE designated driver tickets available – $20 – just ask for ’em when you go to get your tickets. DD has the right to stuff themselves silly with Miss Lily’s awesome food. If you aren’t taking advantage of the Tally Ho shuttle/room, we encourage you to have a DD – want you guys to be safe!

SHUTTLE UPDATE:  The shuttle will be at the Tally Ho around 3pm for pickup and will begin shuttling then. The driver may not stay at the event the entire time but I am told that all riders will get a card w/ his phone # if you want to leave early. He will return around 8:30 to begin bringing people back to the Talley Ho.
