Crown_Valley_Big_Bison_aleHowdy beer fans,

Happy Knoxville Craft Beer Week! Up on deck this evening I have a fine beer from Crown Valley Brewing who are out of the distant lands of Missouri. Now, while Grandpa Simpson may not recognize “Missour-ah” we here at KnoxBeerSnobs do recognize this fine state and the beer that flows forth from craft brewers like Crown Valley.

Let’s get right down to it. This beer has a great amber color with a head that laces nicely on the glass. On the nose I immediately thought of a Märzen style lager but that’s where the similarities end. On the tongue I get the malts, maybe some raisin and while it lingers a bit on the palate there is just a touch of sweetness at the end.

Final snobs: Pretty nice Dubbel that leaves me wishing I had some BBQ pork to pair it with. Bonus in that we discovered the Mrs also likes Dubbels – which opens up a whole new range of options. At $2.99 @ Corks Wine and Spirits, hard to beat that.

Cheers!
