—————–PRESS RELEASE—————–
ASHEVILLE, NC – Scotty, Highland Brewing’s mascot, is finally old enough to drink beer. To celebrate, Highland is throwing a 21st birthday party on Saturday, April 11. Expect the birthday requisites – cake, balloons, streamers, a photo booth – and a bold new beer. Scotty’s birthday Double IPA hails from the pilot room and will be available on draft only at the brewery. The high-gravity West Coast DIPA is Head Brewer Hollie Stephenson’s creation, expected to clock in at an aggressive 10% ABV (alcohol by volume), she says, “this beer is a hop bomb—we wanted to do a big beer for this big birthday celebration.” IPA fans will love this highly hopped, very aromatic, and full-bodied beer. It will be offered alongside several other small batch brews all day.
The festivities start at 2pm, with a Scotty look-alike contest at 6pm. Two winners will be named: People’s Choice and Judge’s Choice. Each winner receives a $200 Highland gift card. Contestants must register to participate by April 8, and registration will be capped at 25 contestants. The website has full contest details and registration. Visit www.highlandbrewing.com/21stbirthday. Dust off your kilts and bagpipes!
Attendees will also have Highland-themed props in a custom photo booth, where guests can pose in a life-size Highland logo. Giant beer pong and giant Jenga will be classic 21st birthday entertainment in Highland’s Meadow, and bands are scheduled throughout the day.
It’s your party too! The first 100 people to arrive in kilts receive a commemorative birthday glass, also available for purchase on site. Cake cutting is at 4pm and will be complimentary for all guests.
Food trucks will be on site serving up tasty local dishes.
