IPA Day! | August 2nd, 2012 – Celebrate at Sunspot!
Howdy fellow snobs,
[Insert proclamation bugle noises here] Hear ye, hear ye – the great and recently bathed snobs have an announcement; on August 2nd, 2012 it is your duty as connoisseurs of beer, barrons of brew and advocates of ale to pay tribute to the fine style of India Pale Ale.
That’s right fellow snobs, it’s IPA Day! That means you have an awesome reason to crack an incredible IPA and enjoy it amongst friends – as if we needed a reason. However, it’s nice to have an excuse every once in a while.
If you’re wondering what festivities might occur on such occasion, no worries, our friends at Sunspot have us covered. As they have shared with us, in an effort to celebrate all things IPA they’ll be doing an IPA tap takeover with a tasting of NINE, yes, NINE 6oz IPAs for $14 from 6pm-9pm. The brews include: Cottonwood Endo IPA, Green Flash West Coast IPA, New Belgium Ranger IPA, Catawba Firewater IPA, Tommy Knocker Pick Ax IPA, Brooklyn EIPA, Sweetwater IPA, Yazoo Hop Project and Foothills Hoppyum. Honestly, I don’t recall ever being able to taste so many tasty IPAs all at once. After 9pm they’ll be offering half priced drafts (non-high grav) and who knows, they may have a trick or two up their sleeve as well. You may have also noticed they’ve updated their beer board to be more snob worthy with ABV, IBU, Body and Session values next to the current tap residents. Sweet.
So go ahead and make plans to check out Sunspot or, at the very least, crack open an IPA and enjoy all that is good about such a tasty brew. Cheers!
