35th Parallel Ale | A collaboration between Saw Works Brewing and Terrapin Beer Co!
Howdy beer fans!
As the subject suggests, our good friends at Saw Works Brewing Company are teaming up with Terrapin Beer Co. to bring us a sweet collaboration beer just in time for the Tennessee vs. Georgia football game on October 5th. As a matter of fact, they’ll be brewing up this beer this Wednesday, August 21st at Saw Works Brewing Company!
The beer will be available beginning October 1st for those of us who begin our tailgating early and a celebratory beer release party will be held at Sunspot on the strip on Friday, October 4th at 6pm.
If you’re wondering where the name 35th Parallel comes from this is a slight jab at the ongoing saga also known as the “Water War” between the fair state of Tennessee and the southern aggressor that we know as Georgia. As we understand it Georgia claims the state line was incorrectly drawn and that they should not only have a little of our slice of heaven but also have access to the Tennessee River. When we asked if the collaboration beer would include some of this disputed water we were told not to ask stupid questions. I may have cried a little. Adam Palmer of Saw Works Brewing Company did have this to say,
“I know a lot of East Tennesseans will be excited to experience this
collaboration. It’s an honor to be co-brewing with the team at Terrapin,
and we are looking forward to a great football weekend come October.”
—Adam Palmer, Saw Works President & Co-Founder
And Brian “Spike” Buckowski added,
“We‘re just glad to be brewing in Tennessee … we know they have plenty
of water to spare!” —Spike Buckowski, Terrapin Brewmaster & Co-Founder
So there ya have it. Two great breweries coming together to celebrate the differences between the states over a beer. I think we can all agree that the world would be a better place if there was more collaboration….beer collaboration that is. Check out the site here for more info and a countdown clock.
Cheers!
