A very Beery Father’s Day
Hard to believe it’s June. That means Father’s Day is right around the corner and you may be wondering what to get old dad – or – you may be looking for a hint to send to the kiddos. We’ve got you covered. Here are a few ideas from the snobs:
TICKETS: What better way to spend Father’s Day weekend then at Knoxville Brewfest – proceeds to to a good cause and this is the culminating event of Knox Beer Week – so there are plenty of options to practice with the old man leading up to the big day! That weekend not looking so hot? Not a problem, Hops in the Hills is the very next weekend in Maryville.
PINTS: Just about all our local beer shops do gift cards OR allow for you to create killer mix-six packs. They also offer some pretty cool growler options. We’d recommend The Casual Pint or Bearden Beer Market for starters. Also be sure to check out some of our local liquor stores for some additional variety – Corks Wine and Spirits (ask for one of the Ryans) or McScrooges.
BEER TOUR: If you haven’t done Knox Brew Tours yet, there’s no better opportunity to do it – as a family. Three stops, great guides, it’s educational, it’s nourishing, memorable….does it sound wholesome? ‘Cause it is.
FOR THE HARD TO PLEASE SNOB: If you’re reading all of this and saying, “yes, we’ve done that” or “I need to take it up a notch because I dinged dad’s truck….with his boat trailer….while he was out of town….and he kinda doesn’t know….” here are a few more suggestions:
BEER NOT FROM HERE: There are several great sites where you can order beer from all parts of our wonderful country but you need to get cracking as most ship ground. Because I’m wearing a Ballast Point t-shirt, I’m going to focus on the west coast. Check out Best Damn Beer Shop – we’ve ordered from here and we’ve been in the shop, excellent selection, great service. Made in Oregon – it’s what it sounds like. Look at Base Camp Brewing Company. Also, don’t forget our friends next door in Asheville, Bruisin Ales, they ship too!
SHIRTS: How about a beer t-shirt of the month club? Cue Brew Tees – with 3, 6 and 12 month options there’s something for everyone here. You can also pick them out one at a time if you’d rather.
Hopefully there are one or two ideas here that will help you with your Father’s Day festivities. If we missed any that are must-have’s for dear old dad, sound off in the comments.
Cheers and an early Happy Father’s Day!
