Hops for Hope 2012 – Benefiting New Hope Blount County Children’s Advocacy Center – April 27th

Howdy fellow snobs –

It’s no secret that here at KnoxBeerSnobs we certainly love New Hope. New Hope is Blount County Children’s Advocacy Center meaning that this group of stellar individuals provides resources to reduce the effects of trauma caused by child abuse. NO CHILD should be abused and while I hate to think that we live in a day and age where services like this are needed, I am proud to know that the staff and volunteers of New Hope are ready to go when the need arises.

Now, New Hope is primarily driven by funding from donations and fundraisers. One of my favorite fundraisers that they do is Hops for Hope. Now, we were able to participate and help plan Hops for Hope last year and it was an absolute blast. This year they have graciously offered to let us assist again. It’s been awesome to work with such a passionate group of people and we are gearing up for another great event.

So, what do you need to know? Here we go:

  • Date: April 27th from 6pm to 11pm
  • Location: Dancing Bear Lodge in Townsend, TN.
  • Brewers: So far we have Depot Street, Woodruff Brewing Company, Smoky Mountain Brewery, Highland Brewing Company, Chattanooga Brewing Company and Calfkiller Brewing Company confirmed with a few more potentials on deck.
  • Tickets: Only 250 will be sold and they can be purchased from New Hope or The Market @ Washington and High. The price is $60 each which gets you all the beer and fancy food from the Dancing Bear Lodge you can eat – and believe me, it’s incredible.
  • Other items to note: Music will be provided by Pistol Creek Catch of the Day, there will be a silent auction (we’re working on some KILLER items folks, just say’n), the annual tricycle race (yes, you will WANT to do this), and rumor has it there may be a game of horseshoes that you won’t want to miss.
  • If you’re concerned about heading out to Townsend, having a few beers and making it back to relieve the baby sitter, have no fear, Scooter Guy of Knoxville will be on hand to take you home. As a matter of fact, you can call Kathy Mclain @ 806-9086 to reserve your ride. We certainly want everyone to be safe so if you aren’t staying up there or don’t have a DD, we’d highly encourage you to use this service!

Hops for Hope 2012 is shaping up to be an awesome evening full of great food, great beer and a fun time. Be sure to get your tickets before they sell out and we hope to see you there!
