Calfkiller Tasting @ The Market in Maryville | Saturday, September 8th @7pm
Howdy fellow snobs!
I hope this post finds you with a tasty craft beer in hand enjoying this fantastic August weather. It’s not normally this pleasant in East Tennessee this time of year but let’s not question it [knock on wood].
While it’s pretty obvious we love craft beer of any kind, from any place, we have a special place in our hearts livers for our Tennessee brewers. We know this is a labor intensive business and the laws in our fair state don’t exactly make things easy but these guys brew and brew some more so they can keep food on their table and a smile on our faces; we certainly raise a glass and thank them for that.
One of our favorite Tennessee breweries is Calfkiller Brewing Company. While they make great beer, the guys behind it are what make it great. We first met these guys this past May at Hops for Hope and not only did they bring their great beer but they brought a good time with them as well. Don and I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with them and learning more about what they do.
While we haven’t seen a lot of their beer otherwise in the area, it has been making it’s appearance here and there. Production in this Sparta brewery has been at max capacity for some time but they’ve long said they want to have their beer in Knoxville. Just so happens, on September 8th, not only is their beer coming for an exclusive tasting at The Market at Washington & High, but the guys themselves are coming too!
Interested? Give The Market a shout at 977-8462 or swing by to sign up. $20+tax gets you 2 beers of your choice, a sampling of the awesomeness that is Calfkiller, a grass fed hamburger topped with Sweetwater Valley Farms cheese served with sweet tater fries. Space is limited so sign up – I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
Cheers!
