Alliance Brewing Company | Flip Flop IPA

While I don’t get out to Alliance Brewing Company nearly as much as I’d like, what I love is that whenever I’m close to downtown I can stop in and get a crowler. Recently I grabbed a crowler of Flip Flop IPA. Let’s check it out.

This beer pours with a wonderful thick head that laces the glass and sticks across the surface of the beer. I’d say the color is a dark gold hue and just a bit hazy. On the nose I’m finding some killer aromas; passion fruit, pineapple and maybe a touch of dank hoppy wonderfulness. On the palate this beer first impresses me as more sweet than bitter, there’s that passion fruit as well. The beer covers the palate well and does leave a lingering bitterness which makes the next sip so much better.

Final Snobs: Alliance doesn’t disappoint and they sure didn’t with this beer. While it may be a bit different than some IPAs, it may also appeal to those that don’t dig the bitter found in a lot of examples in this style. Man, this is a good beer that’s easy to take big sips of and at 7.4% I might need to slow down a bit!

Prost!
