Left Hand Brewery- Chainsaw Double Sawtooth Ale

This is a brew that I bought at Brusin Ales this past weekend.  It was around 9.50 for a 22oz bottle and I was digging the artwork.  Who wouldn’t like a beer named Chainsaw right? Wrong.  I hate to say it but, I was not impressed with this brew.  The pour was a hazy reddish brown with a nice inch and a half cream colored head.  You can smell the 9% alcohol right away followed by muted piny hops and fruits and a bit of caramel toffee that are somewhat muted.  The mouth feel  is  of stingy spicy hops, alcohol and not much else for me.  I am getting quite a buzz from this though.  Not a complete loss.  The bitter aftertaste hangs for a long while.

Remember everyone, beer is in the eye of the beholder.  You might grab one of these on tap somewhere and love it and that is what makes beer great.  This tasted like one of my homebrew experiments I tried where I took a simple red ale and hopped the shit out of it and came up with basically this but, if you like this beer than let us know what you think of it.

Cheers.
