Hops for Hope 2016 Benefiting New Hope Blount County Children’s Advocacy Center | Friday, May 6th, 6pm
Crazy. 2016 marks the 6th Hops for Hope that we have been a part of. We began Knox Beer Snobs in November of 2010 and while this blog has centered on beer, it has really been about the people that gravitate towards this awesome art. We have met so many great people as a result. It was through this blog that we met the people behind New Hope – and fell in love, so to speak, with the people, the purpose, the passion. New Hope restores hope to abused or traumatized children and their families. Hard not to get behind that.
Hops for Hope is in its 10th year and is a major element in New Hope’s annual budget. It’s a small event – only 300 tickets. That’s what makes it so great though, it’s an intimate event with a lot of one-on-one time with the brewers, a killer silent auction (we’re donating a basket of beer we’ve collected from all over AND a Sexual Chocolate basket that includes a 3 year vertical and a sweet matching glass), awesome food from Miss Lily’s and great music. Zack Roskop of Knox Brew Tours told us last year it was the sexiest beer event he’s ever been to – just say’n.
Details are in the press release below BUT here are the quick facts: May 6th, 6-10pm, Lily Barn in Townsend, shuttles from Dancing Bear, $60/ticket that includes food AND beer, killer silent auction, music from Sunshine Station and The Backseat Delilahs, brewers are highlighted below but one is missing because they just let us know they were in – Good People Brewing Company out of Birmingham will be with us!!!! Yes, I am excited about that. Tickets can be purchased from blountkids.org OR the Casual Pint in Maryville.
Check out the info in the press release below and if you have any questions, hit us up! Cya there!

It’s spring, and time for all the things best loved in East Tennessee: good weather, porch sitting and a cold beer! Must also be time, then, for the 10th Annual Hops for Hope brewfest! Hops for Hope will be at 6 p.m. Friday, May 6, at The Lily Barn in Townsend.
Hops for Hope, a fundraiser for New Hope Blount County Children’s Advocacy Center, brings the best things for beer lovers together: Good food, sensational brews and a chance to help children. Intentionally kept at a level that promotes a backyard brewfest atmosphere, Hops for Hope will sell out at 300 tickets, meaning the lines to get your food and beer will be short, and the time to chat, compare and toast with a seasonal or hoppy favorite will be long.
Leading the charge in fundraising are 9 popular brewers, with the Casual Pint of Maryville and Eagle Distributing as headliner sponsors. Ready to greet you at Hops this year are Calfkiller Brewing Company, SawWorks Brewing Company, Crafty Bastard Brewery, Highland Brewing Company, Blackhorse Brewery, Depot Street Brewery, Goose Island Brewery, Last Days of Autumn and Hexagon Brewing Company.
Pairing great food with these craft beers will be the chefs at Miss Lily’s Café. The setting will once again be the serene beauty of The Lily Barn in Townsend.
Helping make the evening possible are sponsors:
Eagle Distributing Company, Casual Pint Maryville, Paine, Bickers LLP, LeConte Realty, Hickory Construction, Renovation Queen, PCS, Ameriprise Financial, Dancing Bear, Blount Gastroenterology Associates, Advocare: Independent Distributors, Greg & Keeli Boyce, South College Brewing Science, Newell Rubbermaid, Maryville Orthopaedic Clinic, Knoxville Pediatric Associates, First Tennessee, Doug & Virginia Hardwick, Standard Aero, Crestview Dental, Mark & Melony Colquitt, and Rick & Cindy Shepard with essential support from The Lily Barn, Miss Lily’s Café, Knox Brew Tours, and River Rats.
Sunshine Station & The Backseat Delilahs will entertain guests throughout the evening, and there will be plenty of incentive to peruse the silent auction – filled with items to melt a beer-lovers heart!
Tickets are $60 per person and $30 designated driver tickets are available. Offsite parking will be located at Dancing Bear Cabins with Knox Brew Tours and River Rat shuttles provided to and from the event.
Get your tickets online at www.blountkids.org or pick them up at the Casual Pint Maryville.
New Hope Blount County Children’s Advocacy Center is a safe place for child victims of sexual and physical abuse. The Center is designed to be the “child’s office,” where multiple agencies and professionals convene to coordinate and deliver services in one place so the child only tells their story one time.
