Alabama’s Back Forty Beer Co. Expands into Knoxville
GADSDEN, Ala. — May 23, 2016 — Knoxville’s craft beer selection is expanding with the addition of Alabama’s Back Forty Beer Company. By the end of May, eastern Tennessee residents will be able to enjoy the Gadsden-based brewing company’s staple beers—Truck Stop Honey Brown Ale and Naked Pig Pale Ale, as well as their seasonal Paw Paw’s Peach Wheat.
“We are excited to bring our passion and love for high quality, accessible craft beer to the people and places of eastern Tennessee. Our market expansion will include the cities of Cleveland, Knoxville and Johnson City with distributor partners including Tarver, Eagle and Holston Distributing. All hold a high standard for craft beer and we look forward to working with each of them,” said Back Forty Chief Operating Officer Tripp Collins.
Back Forty has just completed a yearlong expansion project at their brewery, a historically zoned warehouse built in the 1940’s in Gadsden’s revitalized downtown business district. Collins notes: “Over the last six months we have doubled fermentation capacity and added a 12 head rotary filler to accommodate the increasing demand for our products to the growing number of craft beer customers, particularly those in the eastern Tennessee.”
To celebrate their expansion, Back Forty will be hosting several events throughout the Knoxville area featuring three of Back Forty’s most popular beer varieties,Naked Pig Pale Ale, Truck Stop Honey Brown Ale, and Paw Paw’s Peach Wheat. All event times are noted and several members of Back Forty’s team, including sales reps and brewers will be available to connect with folks about Back Forty and the growing craft beer scene in Knoxville.
