Flashback – India-Style brown ale

Heidi Ho KnoxBeerSnob fans – I’m coming at ya from KnoxBeerSnob Don’s where I’m perusing the catch he brought me back from his recent Bruisin’ Ales adventure in Asheville, NC. If you’ve never been to Bruisn’ Ales, you need to put it on your list of “must-do’s” in the near future.

Anyway, one of the brews he selected for me is Flashback india-style brown ales from our friends at Boulder Beer Company. Wasn’t quite sure what to expect with this brew but it’s a good one. ABV is cranking right at 6.8% and it pours brown and oddly enough, a bit cloudy. To the nose you can detect a hint of cocoa and some faint hops. It sips very smooth and finishes very clean. This is a very drinkable beer with a lot of flavor and character and could be considered a little sweet to some. Overall, I’d give this one a big thumbs up and will make sure to grab another one on my next Bruisin’ Ales adventure.
