Back to School: Beer Program @ the UT Culinary Institute

Hello fellow beer snobs! I write to you today to let you know that KnoxBeerSnob Don and I will be headed back to school here shortly, beer school. The powers that be at the UT Culinary Institute have seen it fit to add some beer classes to their already stellar line-up [DISCLAIMER: I’m a bit biased as the Mrs. is currently in the culinary program, has brought home many tasty treats and has certainly expanded her already talented skill set.]

Now, I feel I would be remiss if I did not play an appropriate “back to school” song before going any further.

Now, let’s get into the details – the first class is entitled “Beer Enthusiast’s Class” and according to the website goes through brewing techniques, tasting and pairings. Pretty cool. It also includes brewing of up to 6 different beers right there at the Culinary Institute. So for those of you who have always wanted to learn how to brew, this would be a great opportunity to learn. It’s 3 classes, April 1st, 15th, & 29th starting at 5:30 at the Visitors Center/Culinary Institute. The total cost is $79 for the course and $25 for materials. Which, I don’t know about you, but that seems like a deal to me. If you want to find out more, check out the website here and give them a shout. Hey, if nothing else, you’ll get to hang out with us….which we consider a good thing but you may disagree after the course.

Hope to see you there.
