Knoxville Brewers’ Jam 2014
The 18th Annual Knoxville Brewers’ Jam is about two months away – October 18th 1pm-7pm @ World’s Fair Park. It’ll be here before we know it. Shoot, football season is at our fingertips!
For those of you that don’t know, Brewers’ Jam is Knoxville’s longest running gathering of beer loving individuals. Think of a nice fall day in World’s Fair Park with awesome beer, great food and killer tunes- that’s the jam. Now, it’s important to remember why we gather, to support Community Shares. If you’re not aware of Community Shares – check out their website but in short Community Shares assists women and children involved in domestic violence, helps provide housing, food and support to those affected by AIDS, helps introduce art, music and theater to our kiddos, they help the community recycle and they are an advocate for keeping our streams and rivers clean. If you can’t get behind any of that then we respectfully ask that you move to Arkansas.
We’ve been regulars at Brewers’ Jam for…well….umm…a while. Even when Beer Snob Don SELFISHLY decided to get married on the same day as the jam, did this snob miss it? Nope. Just meant I had to cut out a little early, which was OK. I mean, what are friends for?
Last year the jam boasted 57 unique brewers with 18 new ones. What we like about this event is that while you see many of the brews you are used to seeing around town there are always some new beers AND new brewers that we either don’t get here or make their first appearance at the jam. Also, there is a strong home brewer presence with groups like the Tennessee Valley Homebrewers, so you get to try out some really unique brews and talk to the guys and gals that brewed them.
Be sure to check out the Knoxville Brewers’ Jam website for more info and how to get tickets. This is always a fun event and it supports a great local cause. Definitely beer snob approved.
Cheers!
