MadTree Brewing Teams Up with WUTK Radio & Second Harvest for Fundraisers
Cincinnati brewery believes beer builds community and community builds beer
KNOXVILLE (March 16, 2018) – MadTree Brewing is coming to Eastern Tennessee to take root in the community by sharing their beers and supporting local institutions, WUTK Volunteer Radio and Second Harvest Foodbank of East Tennessee. The brewery, known for their PsycHOPathy IPA and Lift Kölsch, recently began distributing beers in the area and has a mission to make a meaningful impact in the communities they serve. MadTree will host a series of launch events at local bars to introduce their beers and raise money and awareness for the two groups.
On Thursday, March 22 at 6PM MadTree will join local brewery, Blackberry Farm, for a joint tap takeover at the Casual Pint in Maryville where $1 of every MadTree or Blackberry Farm beer sold will be donated to Second Harvest. The Second Harvest team will be on-hand to share more about their mission and how people can get involved. MadTree and Blackberry Farm will be tapping some specialty beers to celebrate the occasion. Additionally, both breweries will be giving away glassware and other swag.
Then, on Friday, March 23, at 6PM MadTree will team up with WUTK Volunteer Radio at Suttree’s High Gravity Tavern for a night of great beer to support Knoxville’s original independent radio station. There will be eight MadTree beers on tap including some specialty rare beers with $1 of each MadTree pint donated to WUTK. WUTK will be hanging out to talk about independent radio and provide some great giveaways. There will also be glassware giveaways along with some great raffle prizes.

MadTree was founded and continues to grow on the notion that beer builds community and community builds beer. “Partnering with these two groups and working with Blackberry Farm is a bit surreal for us,” said MadTree Brewing co-founder, Brady Duncan. “We have huge respect for the beer that Blackberry Farm is brewing, have members of the MadTree family that are proud UT alums, and love the work that Second Harvest is doing for East Tennessee.”
Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, MadTree has rapidly captured the attention of craft beer fans and community supporters alike in their five years of existence. MadTree is recognized for their laser focus on quality craft beer that is brewed to create unique, new flavor profiles. The brewery is also applauded for fulfilling a mission to be a strong partner in the communities that they serve. MadTree is distributed by Cherokee Distributing Company throughout the Eastern Tennessee area.
About MadTree Brewing Company
Cincinnati’s MadTree Brewing made history when they opened in 2013 by becoming the first modern craft brewery to can its beer in Ohio. When it comes to brewing, they have carved their own path. They mix. They mash. They methodically bring quality beer to life, and have fun doing it. Demand from the growing community keeps MadTree motivated and moving. In return, they make nothing but the best beer and opened their new production brewery and taproom in February 2017. They are founded and continue to grow on the notion that beer builds community builds and community builds beer.
